Life Drawing

At the beginning of the year i asked at our union about rumours about a life drawing society, and though there was one, it hadn't been properly set up, so i took it upon myself to set up the life drawing society.
Below are the drawings i produced from the first session. I have done life drawing before and usually been quite good at it however these images seem to be a  little bit warped. This may be because i wasn't used to working in a sketchbook.

BAF

Bradford Animation festival was a lot of fun and i have my fingers crossed that it continues next year. I was shown i whole range of animations, i found out more about the inner workings of laika and Aardman, and double negative which was extremely interesting. I also saw a film by Michel Ocelot... which was unusual and not particularly to my tastes. It was a great experience and i'd love to go to an animation festival again!

Thought Bubble

Thought bubble was the first convention i have ever been to and i really enjoyed it. I had only know about two specific things happening; Jeff Lemire doing signings and a panel of people who created Bee and Puppycat. I was excited about both of these things however when i got there i was overwhelmed by the amount of independant illustrators and animators, all with varying styles. It was very interesting to see so many creatives in one place.
Meeting Lemire was a disappointment. He was not what i expected and he came across quite rude. I feel like if i were in a position where my creations were earning my a nice amount of money i would be more grateful.
The Bee and Puppycat panel was very interesting, we get some insight into how characters were created and the idea for the general premise, such as influences from sailor moon. We also got a sneak peak at the next bee and puppycat episode which was great.
Overall i had a lot of fun at Thought Bubble, i now have a lot of cards from a lot of illustrators, and a lot of posters too... also a very empty bank account...
